An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive Operations Administrator to join a busy engineering company in Chelmsford. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment to provide essential administrative support and to coordinate operational activities.

You will be working alongside various different internal colleagues as well as subcontractors, to ensure everyone has what they need to do their jobs well,  as well as being able to assist with client delivery duties.

Key Details:
  • Monday to Friday 07:30-16:00
  • Starting salary between £27-32k depending on experience
  • 28 days holiday including BH + extra 4 days for Christmas

Responsibilities:
  • Support operational teams by ensuring materials, equipment, inductions, clearances and site training requirements are arranged
  • Manage a small portfolio of allocated clients and assist with client communications and queries
  • Prepare quotations, reports, RAMS and other operational documentation
  • Coordinate logistics including materials, equipment collections and deliveries, and accommodation bookings
  • Maintain and update internal systems, records and job filing processes to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with purchase orders, job allocations, permits, and operational administration requirements
  • Support with other general department duties such as taking calls and client reports
Experience & Skills Required
  • Previous administration experience is essential
  • Administration experience within an operations, engineering, construction or similar environment would be an advantage
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident using computer systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to follow processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and strong attention to detail
