I am exclusively recruiting for a manufacturing business based in Norwich who are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join its procurement team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to take the next step in their career within a successful and growing organisation. Whilst experience within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable, applications from candidates with experience in other sectors will also be considered.

The Role As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements and ensuring the timely supply of materials and services to support business operations. Working closely with key internal stakeholders, you will play an important role in driving procurement performance and delivering value across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing supplier relationships and performance.
  • Negotiating pricing, contracts and terms to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving and value improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring market trends and supplier developments.
  • Ensuring continuity of supply and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders across operations, production and engineering.
  • Managing procurement activities in line with business objectives and budgets.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manufacturing procurement experience would be advantageous; however, candidates from other sectors will also be considered.
  • CIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be beneficial but is not essential.
