HR Advisor

We are looking for an experienced ER focused HR Advisor to join a large and varied business based in Tilbury. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced and operational environment, providing expert support to managers and employees across a diverse workforce.

You'll play a key role in managing complex ER matters, supporting business change, and helping to maintain positive employee and industrial relations.

• Flexible 36 hour week between 08:00-17:00
• Starting salary circa £46k

Responsibilities

• Manage a range of employee relations cases from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters
• Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers, ensuring fair and legally compliant outcomes
• Support union engagement activities, consultation processes and industrial relations initiatives
• Assist with organisational change projects, including restructures, redeployment and redundancy processes
• Analyse ER trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk and strengthen management capability
• Support HR administration, recruitment, onboarding and people-related processes to ensure compliance and accuracy

Experience/Skills Needed

• Previous experience in a HR Advisor or Employee Relations focused role
• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience working in and understanding unionised environments
• Experience managing complex ER casework in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to coach and influence managers at all levels with confidence and credibility
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with experience working to tight deadlines
